The New York (N) Mets have parted ways with 37-year old reliever Billy Wagner, sending him to the St. Louis Cardinals for a 2nd round draft pick. The Mets general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.
So far this year Wagner has been credited with 6 saves, registered a 5.40 ERA and struck out 25 in 23.1 innings. He also has a 2-4 record.

What a performance by Joe Gaetti of the Colorado Rockies! The right fielder really tore up National League pitching and easily claimed the Player of the Week Award.
The 27-year-old hit .522 with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. For the week he was 12-23 and scored 5 runs.
Thus far in 2009 Gaetti is hitting .275 with 16 home runs, 52 RBIs, 48 runs scored and has compiled a .325 OBP.

The American League made it official today: Grady Sizemore is the Player of the Week.
He really stood out on the diamond this week with a .520 average to take home the award. The Toronto center fielder went 13-25, drove in 8 runs, scored 7 times and hit 1 home run.
Thus far this season Sizemore has hit .295 with 7 home runs, 43 RBIs and scored 55 times.
