Saturday, May 23rd, 2009: Los Angeles (A) Pitcher Awesome in Shutout
Speaking after the game, the Los Angeles (A) manager said, "Jered Weaver had everything going for him. He controlled their bat speed, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all...masterful."

Weaver held the New York (A) Yankees to 3 hits and fashioned a fine 1-0 shutout. He had 4 walks and 10 strikeouts in the game.

"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the New York (A) skipper told reporters.

Weaver has gone 9-1 this season with an ERA of 2.36 and 97 strikeouts in 91.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .206 against him.
Friday, May 15th, 2009: Dodgers Hurler Rogers Tames Los Angeles (A)
"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Los Angeles (N) skipper said in postgame comments after Mark Rogers had shut out the Los Angeles (A) Angels of Anaheim 6-0 on a 6-hit masterpiece.

Rogers numbered 3 strikeouts and issued no walks in a gem of a performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Los Angeles (A) manager after the defeat.

This year Rogers has posted a 2-3 mark in 9 starts and has a 4.91 ERA.
