| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, June 24th, 2009: Diamond Hot, Nationals Cold In a knockout performance, Thomas Diamond beat the Nationals 1-0 with an impressive 2-hit shutout.
The Braves hurler finished with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Diamond told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Nationals manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
In 2009 Diamond has compiled a 6-5 record with a 3.45 ERA in 14 starts. |  | Monday, June 8th, 2009: Atlanta-Texas Deal: Galarraga for Diamond Officials for the Atlanta Braves confirmed that they have traded 27-year old starting pitcher Armando Galarraga, 24-year old minor league shortstop Kelly Babthorpe, 20-year old minor league center fielder Dennis Macias, a 1st round draft pick and a 3rd round draft pick to the Texas Rangers. In return, the Braves will receive 26-year old starting pitcher Thomas Diamond and 24-year old second baseman Patrick Kuhns.
Currently Galarraga has a 1-4 won-lost record in 9 starts with a 5.67 ERA. He also has 61 strikeouts in 54 innings.
In 2009 Diamond has a 4-4 record with a 3.95 ERA in 11 starts. |  | Monday, June 8th, 2009: Atlanta-Florida Swap: Tulowitzki for The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Atlanta Braves sent 24-year old shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to the Florida Marlins for a 2nd round draft pick.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
This season Tulowitzki has hit at a .233 clip with 36 RBIs, 10 home runs and 33 runs scored.
