Breaking News Monday, June 8th, 2009: White Sox and Athletics Agree to Deal A trade between the Chicago (A) White Sox and the Oakland Athletics was made official this morning. The Chicago (A) White Sox have sent 27-year old closer David Aardsma and 21-year old minor league left fielder Tim Keen to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for 21-year old minor league starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, 20-year old minor league closer Dwain MacCarter, 29-year old shortstop Bobby Crosby and a 2nd round draft pick. Monday, June 8th, 2009: Chicago (A) Left Fielder Nets AL Award It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike, when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Bill Breayley, the Chicago (A) White Sox 23-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for American League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 13 hits in 26 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 4 home runs and 10 RBI. Breayley on the season is hitting .342 with 13 home runs. His stats include 36 RBIs and 36 runs scored. Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009: Chicago (A) Hopeless Against Hughes Philip Hughes of the New York (A) Yankees really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 12-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Chicago (A) White Sox with a 5-hit shutout in which he struck out 4 and gave up 2 walks.
